From the Muralist, Charles Key: "Just a few weeks apart, my father Charles Key Sr. and Chadwick Boseman, who we dearly remember as “the Black Panther” passed away-- two strong men, two types of cancer. Both were men of honor, both changed the world in their own way, both loved, both had family, and believed in Change that included fairness for everyone. This mural was therapy for me as I grieved the loss of my father. An American actor, Boseman was known for his portrayals of heroic and real life individuals. During his two-decade career, Boseman received multiple accolades, including two Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Golden Globe Award, a Critics' Choice Movie Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and an Academy Award nomination.

Black Panther is a 2018 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics.

This process was amazing and still is. I have done a lot of murals but this project was more informative than I expected. It is such an honor to know and understand the history and so many influential figures in our community."
