Each year, the Tennessee Justice Center takes the opportunity to honor outstanding champions of entire communities within our state by inducting them into our Hall of Fame. These fearless fighters embody a commitment to the same mission that TJC has believed since 1996: that all our neighbors deserve the opportunity to thrive and that our laws, policies, and programs should be protected and improved to reflect these shared beliefs.

THIS YEAR'S FEATURED CLIENT
Connor Murphy
At five months old, Connor Murphy was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. When TennCare denied paying for necessary medical care for him to survive, Connor and his family reached out to TJC for help. Now, Connor is currently in pursuit of finishing a Masters’ Degree of Computer Science at the University of Tennessee.

Connor’s story is proof that Medicaid works. With the high costs of medical care and assistive technology, access to affordable healthcare is essential. By protecting Medicaid, we protect Connor and his future.
HIGHLIGHTING OUR WORK
TJC's Anti-Hunger Advocacy
In Tennessee, 1 in 6 people are food insecure. Senior Director of Nutrition Advocacy Signe Anderson says, “hunger has a lot of different faces, and we see them come through our door everyday." Whether it’s campaigning legislation for free school meals or spreading awareness through social media, TJC’s Anti-Hunger Advocacy team is working to end hunger in different ways.
