FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can anyone rent a space at TJC?
The use of the Tennessee Justice Center (TJC) meeting facilities is reserved for contracted occupants and/or eligible partner organizations. All requests for facility usage are subject to review and approval by leadership of TJC. 

Is a security deposit required?
Yes, there will be a refundable security deposit of $250 paid by check within 7 days of signed agreement to secure booking. If excessive clean-up is necessary after a meeting, your security deposit will NOT be refunded.

Is insurance required?
Renters must provide a copy of Certificate of Insurance (COI) and add the Tennessee Justice Center as additionally insured.

Can we serve alcohol at our event?
If alcohol is being served, the COI must be reflected on COI provided. Additionally, if you are selling/providing alcohol, bartenders have to have their ABC license, as the state of Tennessee requires bartenders to complete a state-approved Responsible Vendor Program. TJC will not provide bartenders.

Is security provided?
If the meeting/event takes place outside of TJC operating hours (Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm), security is not provided. TJC can refer to a security company.

Is parking available?
The TJC parking lot has 17 spaces on the exterior of the building and 22 spaces in the covered parking garage. Parking in the covered garage is available upon request. 

Are there unisex bathrooms?
Yes, all bathrooms at TJC are unisex. There are bathrooms available on both the main level and upper level of the building.

Does the venue provide all audio/visual equipment?
TJC has Wifi and TVs with HDMI ports in all spaces, and a projector in the Beasley, Bonnyman, & Wiltshire Community Center. Guests may bring in additional audio/visual or other electronic equipment subject to TJC approval. TJC staff is not available to help with loading or setting up outside equipment. Additionally, TJC is not liable for damage or loss of equipment. 

Can my group promote TJC online and/or social media?
The logos and/or the name of TJC and/or partner agencies are prohibited from being used in any advertisement related to the event or organization without prior written approval.

Does TJC provide accessibility accommodations?
TJC strives to provide accessible facilities to meeting attendees. We will be happy to discuss specific accessibility issues related to our space with you or your attendees. Advance notice of individuals with disabilities is the best way to ensure specific needs are accommodated. 

To that end, your group agrees that it shall comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act regarding activities related to your event. You will be responsible for providing any and all auxiliary aids and services to allow your attendees to have full and equal access to your event.

Are discounts available? 
Current TJC staff & board members receive a 20% discount on rentals.
Organizational members receive a 20% discount on rentals. 
Individual donors receive a 10% discount on rentals.
