You're invited to join TJC and Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee at 8:45am CT on Thursday, October 30th, for brief updates regarding the SNAP benefit delays and the government shutdown.

If USDA fails to release funding, SNAP benefit delays will hit over 700,000 Tennessee families on November 1st. As the government shutdown continues, Congress could give USDA the green light to ensure families aren't without food.

Your calls are working! Senator Blackburn is supporting legislation to get SNAP to families as soon as possible. But Tennessee families need support NOW! The good news is we don't need to wait on Congress. Even during a government shutdown, USDA has the authority to fully fund SNAP and allow benefits to get to families.
