Jeff Gibson

Jeff Gibson has served the Tennessee Justice Center’s clients in multiple roles for nearly a decade. He has represented a number of our clients as their personal lawyer, and all TJC’s clients have benefited from his organizational leadership as a fundraiser and Board member. Until recently, Jeff was a member of Bass, Berry & Sims PLC. As an elite litigator handling cases of enormous complexity, Jeff always found time to take another pro bono referral and to co-counsel with TJC on tough cases. His dedication helped make Bass a leader in community service. In 2017, Jeff received TJC’s Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award, one of numerous accolades he has received for public service devoted to making our community more just.



As a member of TJC’s Board since 2016, and as Board Chair in 2023-2024, Jeff has devoted hundreds of hours to making TJC more effective and resilient. One of the nicest, most persuasive arm-twisters we know, Jeff has helped lead TJC’s fundraising and has personally raised significant amounts to sustain our work. Jeff recently became general counsel at Otter Learning, which operates early learning centers across seven states. We know that it will afford him new opportunities for community service and enable him to bring fresh insights to his leadership at TJC.
