The SNAP time limit policy restricts people between the ages of 18 and 52 to just 3 months from receiving food benefits if they struggle to find work or are underemployed. During the pandemic the SNAP time limit policy which enforces work requirements, was placed on hold. Now that the PHE has ended the time limit rule has been reinstated many people who struggle to find work are at risk of losing access to food. There are also new rules that change how the time limit policy is implemented. We will explain the SNAP time limit policy, the new rules and why this policy is ineffective, administratively burdensome and what is being done to advocate for the end of the SNAP time limit policy.
