About the event
About 10,500 people spend each night unhoused in Tennessee. Hunger and housing insecurity are deeply intertwined. Hunger often precedes homelessness when people are forced to choose between rent and eating. Join us to learn more about the intersection of hunger and housing insecurity and how safety net programs like SNAP can help support people facing homelessness. We will discuss existing policies to improve access to SNAP for those who are unhoused. Barriers exist, but together we can remove them to ensure that these programs better serve the communities that need it most.
