Exiting Prison and Food Insecurity

People exiting the prison system and their families are twice as likely to experience food insecurity and they can also face housing insecurity, struggle to find employment, and face the risk of recidivism. SNAP and other food safety net programs are available to support individuals. Barriers and misinformation can keep some eligible people from applying and must be removed.
