On May 22nd, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a federal budget that will devastate the lives of millions of families, including many right here in Tennessee. The budget slashes funding for Medicaid (“TennCare”) and SNAP ( “food stamps”), crippling those programs and using the savings to pay for the big tax cuts. The bill now moves to the Senate, and we anticipate leadership to rush it to passage within the next few weeks.
