Sherie Edwards

Sherie Edwards is Vice President of Corporate and Legal at SVMIC in Brentwood, Tennessee, a position she has held since January of 2015. She joined SVMIC in November of 1998 as a Claims Attorney. In her current role, she is responsible for corporate legal issues, regulatory compliance, government relations and corporate services.

Ms. Edwards received her Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Human Relations from Trevecca Nazarene University in 1991, her J.D. from the Nashville School of Law in 1996, and her M.B.A. from the Owen Graduate School of Business at Vanderbilt University in August 2012. She is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court. She frequently presents on the topics of attorney wellness and corporate counsel issues and has been published in ABA TIPS publications and the ACC journal The Docket.

Sherie is active in professional and civic organizations, serving in leadership roles for several organizations including: the Tennessee Bar Association (Past President); MPL Association Corporate Counsel Section (Chair); American Bar Association (Chair, TIPS Medicine and Law committee) and is a member of the Boards of the Nashville Bar Association, Sister Cities Nashville, and Lawyers Association for Women. She is a Fellow of the American, Nashville and Tennessee Bar Foundations, a recipient of the Nashville Business Journal’s Best of the Bar in 2013, 2014, and 2017 through 2023, and a member of the Harry Phillips Inn of Court.

More important than all the honors in the world, Sherie is the proud mom of Andrew (and his lovely partner Becca), Sarah Kathryn, and Victoria (and her wonderful husband Matt), and the proud “Gigi” to Tanner and a new grandbaby set to debut in January 2024.
