In partnership with Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC), we are hosting a CLE training on Wednesday, October 8th, at 11:30AM CT focused on the intersection of immigration law, family law, and public benefits law.
This course will present an overview of how attorneys and advocates can assist immigrant families on family law issues. This training covers immigrant family preparedness and powers of attorney for care of minor children. We will cover how powers of attorney can be used, what their limitations are, and the basic information to prepare them. Speakers will explain powers of attorney under TCA 34-6-301 and will review how those powers of attorney can be prepared in a community-based setting such as a clinic.
