TAKE ACTION!

The people of Tennessee share the belief that all humans have dignity, and we believe that our laws and public policy should reflect this shared value. TJC staff, volunteers, partners and community members work together to make things better in our state. This work takes all of us —  all of our care and work and love.  Sign up to hear more, volunteer, and be a part of this work.

INDEPENDENCE

PETITION TO SUPPORT PEOPLE WHO NEED HOME CARE

The version of the Build Back Better Act that the House passed last November includes $150 billion to expand affordable home care. The Senate needs to pass a modified version of BBB and it should include funding for home care, so that hundreds of thousands of seniors and people with disabilities who have been waiting can receive the care they need to live safely in their homes.

Kids Need P-EBT

Pandemic-EBT gives money to eligible families with students who have missed free or reduced-price school meals due to school closures and remote learning caused by the pandemic.

Kids can't wait!

Too many families continue to wait for P-EBT food support. We are advocating on behalf of families to ensure benefits are distributed, and we have lots of resources to help you with any P-EBT concerns. Learn more.

Making the Court More Accessible

Going to court without a lawyer is never easy. But TJC believes that the General Sessions court can be improved so that people who are sued or evicted and do not have a lawyer can still get a fair hearing.

Share Your Story!

If you have had to defend yourself in General Sessions court against a lawsuit or eviction, we want to hear from you about your experience. Learn more about this project, and share your story with us here.
