Medicaid block grant: TennCare wants to cover fewer drugs to get cheaper prices

• Rising fears that TennCare will no longer cover some high costs drugs that people with disabilities require access to under the Medicaid block grant
• Despite the fact that Medicaid’s hallmark feature is its assistance for the most vulnerable–those with disabilities who need newer, expensive prescriptions–, the proposal suggests that some new drugs may not be covered even if they are FDA approved.
