Leah Hazelwood

Health Policy & Advocacy Associate

Leah was born and raised in rural Kentucky. She is a first-generation graduate of the University of Louisville, where she studied Political Science, Public Health, and Race & Gender Studies. While a part of the Louisville community, she quickly realized the intersection of health inequities facing BIPOC communities in both rural and urban areas. Leah is deeply passionate about health literacy, access to care, and health equity— these passions are tied directly to her own personhood. She is excited to continue serving Southerners and work towards a healthier future for all with the Tennessee Justice Center!

In her spare time, Leah is a serial hobbyist who loves cooking, exploring Nashville's food scene, and spending time with her fiancé, friends, and pets. You can reach Leah at
