TennCare got 1,800 public comments on the block grant plan. Only 11 were supportive

Gov. Bill Lee has said twice that he believes most people who oppose his plan for a Medicaid block grant are “misinformed.”

If that’s true, then a whole lot of people are misinformed.

The state government received more than 1,700 emails, letters and public statements opposing the governor’s block grant proposal during a public input window that ended last month, including hundreds of comments urging officials to abandon what they say is a “fundamentally flawed” plan, according to records obtained by The Tennessean through a public records request. Only 11 comments were submitted in support of the proposal.
