Insure Our Kids: A Campaign to Enroll Every Eligible Child in Tennessee
The Tennessee Justice Center’s children’s team is thrilled to announce our participation in Insure Our Kids!
Insure Our Kids is a statewide campaign to enroll every uninsured child who is eligible for public health insurance programs. Together with fifteen other partner organizations, we will raise public awareness of TennCare and CoverKids and connect families to enrollment assistance.
There are roughly 62,000 children in Tennessee without health insurance. Out of that number, 48,872 uninsured children qualify for CHIP or Medicaid. The goal of Insure Our Kids is to drive down the number of uninsured children in TN by enrolling every eligible child in TennCare or CoverKids and also helping children who are currently enrolled through the redetermination process, so they stay covered.
The Tennessee Justice Center, along with the other partner organizations, will provide training and education to people who may encounter uninsured children. Together we will lead a statewide public awareness campaign, including events, volunteer opportunities, resources, and lending all our knowledge and experience to help reach children without insurance.
