Full-Time Position | Based in Nashville TN | Salary Range: $48,000 - $60,000

The Grants Coordinator manages all aspects of the organization's grant activities. This includes preparing proposals and reports, researching funding sources, cultivating donor relationships, and ensuring compliance with grant deadlines. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, they collaborate with various team members at the Tennessee Justice Center. 

A typical day might look like:

  • Ensure that all tasks align with the objectives of the Executive/Admin Team and the organization's strategic goals 

  • Collect and consolidate information from staff to support grant proposals and reports.  

  • Develop, refine, and submit proposals, letters of intent, and reports to foundations and other grantors, overseeing the entire grants process from inception to completion.  

  • Provide guidance to staff regarding evaluation criteria and assist in the evaluation process of grants.  

  • Conduct research on potential local and national foundations and grantmakers.  

  • Manage and update the grants database by inputting contributions, uploading completed applications, and handling correspondence.  

  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with foundations and grantmakers, facilitating communication between staff and funders.  

  • Collaborate with the Funding Roundup Team to oversee our grants calendar and portfolio across multiple program areas, ensuring timely submission of proposals and grant reports for active, pending, and prospective grants.

  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Suite, email, calendar, Microsoft Word, and Excel  

  • Strong dedication to social justice, alignment with TJC’s mission, and ability to articulate its value 

This job might be an even better fit if:

  • You have graduated from a college or university 

  • You have at least two years’ experience of grant writing and/or fundraising 

  • You have worked in a non-profit setting
