Protect SNAP: Act to End Government Shutdown

With the government shutdown now in the third week, SNAP continues to operate without disruption. If you work with Tennesseans who struggle with hunger, it is important to reassure them that they can use their SNAP benefits to get the food they need for now.
Note that nutrition programs, such as SNAP (food stamps) and WIC will be provided without interruption through the end of February, and school meal funding is guaranteed through April. Orders for The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) food purchases that have already been confirmed with a contract will be delivered. This should cover most, but likely not all, of the food orders through March.
If the shutdown continues, it puts SNAP and other nutrition programs at risk, which would harm hundreds of thousands of Tennesseans. Please act now to put an end to the shutdown and reach out to others to do the same. Call, email, or tweet your Senators to ask them to end the shutdown now.
