There are stark racial disparities in health outcomes for residents of states that have not expanded Medicaid. In Tennessee, Black adults are two times more likely to be uninsured resulting in higher rates of heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. Sixty percent of people in the health care coverage gap are Black, Latino, Indigenous or Asian. The effect has been nothing short of devastating for these communities of color.
The good news is, there’s something you can do to make healthcare more accessible and affordable for all Tennesseans! Join us for a 90-minute virtual conversation hosted by the Tennessee Justice Center and Tennesseans for Historical Justice as we share stories of where and how health disparities are manifesting in local communities. Gain insight and valuable information on how to identify these systemic issues and what you can do about them. Your voice is needed more than ever to inform and change the public narrative around these health injustices.
