Gov. Bill Lee defends the state’s decision not to use a reserve of more than $730 million in federal block grant dollars set aside to help poor working families.

Tennessee could become the first state in the nation to fund its Medicaid health care program through a block grant.

Michele Johnson Exec. Director of the Tennessee Justice Center, are pointing to the surplus amount as a reason to avoid the funding approach for healthcare.
