Alarming Jump in Uninsured TN Children

  • TJC Director of Children’s Health Kinika Young on advocacy: “One is trying to make families aware of their redetermination process, that we think has been tripping up a lot of people. There’s some redtape barriers that families in TN may not be aware of and may be having a difficult time navigating through.”
  • Georgetown University Center for Children and Families found that 25,000 children became uninsured from 2016-2018.
  • Southeastern states are experiencing similar reductions in insured rates for kids in their states.
