Jason King

Law Clerk

Jason King grew up in Middle Tennessee and joined TJC as a legal intern for the summer of 2008. He entered Belmont University in 1999 where he completed his undergraduate degree with a double major in religion and philosophy. His extra curricular activities at Belmont include working at the climbing gym, playing intramural sports, and studying New Testament Greek.  He led a group of students in organizing a living wage campaign and wrote an award winning senior philosophy thesis exploring the ethics of living wage policy according to a Rawlsian theory of distributive justice.

After graduating with honors in 2003, Jason began his winding journey toward law school. From 2003-2006 he worked in mortgage and retail banking, took the LSAT, taught GRE courses, and attended Vanderbilt’s Graduate Department of Religion for a semester.

He began his law school studies at the University of Mississippi in the fall of 2006. While there, he has served as vice president of the Gorove Society for International Law and is currently leading a workgroup to revive the school’s chapter of the Native American Law Student Association. Jason expects to graduate from law school in December of 2008 and he eagerly anticipates a challenging, fulfilling career in the law.

For leisure, Jason enjoys exercise, reading on a wide range of personal research interests, watching movies, spending time with his friends and girlfriend, and conversing with his parents who currently reside in Germantown, TN.
